Fanfani Institute, Piazza Indipendenza 18, Florence

On Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 5:00 PM, the first event of the newly formed Manfredo Fanfani Foundation, in collaboration with Ars Pace, was held in Florence to commemorate the Fanfani Institute’s seventieth anniversary, dedicated to the Professor’s memory. The event took place at the historic Florentine headquarters in Piazza Indipendenza.
“Fanfani70” was created by Foundation President Fabio Fanfani and Ars Pace Vice President Monica Baldi, with the patronage of the Municipality of Florence, the Region of Tuscany, and the Consular Corps of Florence.
The event opened with the “Hymn to Peace” performed by Maestro Andrea Ceccomori, flutist and Secretary of Ars Pace.
After greetings from the Mayor of Florence, Sara Funaro, the Dean of the Consular Corps of Florence, Fabio Fanfani, the Vice President of the Manfredo Fanfani Foundation, Stefania Fanfani, and the Vice President of the Ars Pace Association, the Hon. Monica Baldi, scenes from the film “Amici Miei” (My Friends) filmed in Professor Fanfani’s studio were screened, featuring the extraordinary participation of actor Enio Drovandi.
The presentation of the Manfredo Fanfani Foundation was moderated by the Director of RAI Toscana, Giovanni Iannelli, with remarks by the President of the Ars Pace Association, the Hon. Enrique Barón Crespo, the President of the Manfredo Fanfani Foundation, Fabio Fanfani, and the presentation of the book <MANFREDO FANFANI: “THE PROFESSOR”. THE MAN, THE DOCTOR, THE ENTERPRISE> edited by the author Alessandra Abramo.
The Memories Pills recounted by:
Maurizio Dal Maso, Medical Director
Alberto Di Chiara, Opinionist & Former Footballer
Lorenzo Livi Bacci, Art Expert
Mario Maida, ENT Physician
GianCarlo Naldoni, Orthopedic Physician
Giovanni Serni, Sports Physician
The event concluded with a Vin d’Honneur, preceded by a highly acclaimed performance by Vice President Baldi and Maestro Ceccomori, who dedicated an exclusive musical composition to the Professor.
Recalling the Professor’s wise and visionary approach, Ars Pace launched a call to incorporate the arts into healthcare settings, both public and private, to help achieve a subjective sense of general physical well-being and to facilitate more relaxed treatment. It is scientifically proven that music and art help achieve peace and serenity during healthcare services and treatment processes, as stated by the WHO. It is essential to promote a culture of health focused on prevention, holistic well-being, and respect for the environment, placing the patient at the centre.
Ars Pace has also proposed annually adopting a painting significant for art, health, and peace.
