This is the first event in the evocative three-year spirituality journey entitled “FRANCISCAN PEACE TRILOGY,” created by Ars Pace and experienced through the visual and performing arts, observing the Franciscan spirit, for the celebrations of the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis in 2026. The journey unfolds over three years: 1. 2024 to commemorate the “stigmata” received by the Saint on September 14, 1224, at the Sanctuary of La Verna 2. 2025 to honour the “Canticle of the Creatures,” written by the Saint at the Sanctuary of San Damiano 3. 2026 to commemorate the death of the Saint at Porziuncola on October 3, 1226. Today, the stigmata They mark their path, which, with “corporeal” pain, suggests the metaphor of sublimation. This seemingly edifying metaphor could also be a metaphor for the transformation from pain to the conquest of the illuminating beacons that show us the way, both to follow the words of Christ (Matthew 5:3-12) and to become true peacemakers.
