“PEACEMUSIC” Concert

Ars Pace, along with President Enrique Barón Crespo and Vice President Monica Baldi, attended the PEACEMUSIC Concert, held at the Madrid National Music Auditorium on December 5, 2023, at 7:30 PM.

PEACEMUSIC is a European project presented by the Assisi Suono Sacro association in collaboration with the Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio (UAX), as part of the Erasmus+ small-scale mobility program between Italy and Spain. It is supported by ARS PACE with the shared goal of promoting Peace through the valorisation of art, music, and dance, taking into account inclusion, diversity, environmental sustainability, and the digital transition.

The UAX Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Miguel Romea, performed a program featuring three Italian soloists from the Assisi Suono Sacro artistic background: Andrea Ceccomori on flute, Antonio Cocomazzi on piano, and Marco Testoni on percussion.

They performed original works by two great Italian film music masters: Ennio Morricone with the theme from Nuovo Cinema Paradiso and Riz Ortolani with Dolce Sentire from the soundtrack of the film Fratello Sole, Sorella Luna, dedicated to the life of Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Clare. The repertoire also included: Hymn to Peace by Ars Pace, Mariposa, and Per Aerem (A. Ceccomori/A. Cocomazzi), Canto Agreste (A. Cocomazzi); Table of Silence (A. Ceccomori); and Rubra Suite (Rubra, Impatiens, Nanà) by Marco Testoni, featuring a reworking of the traditional Amazing Grace for handpan and percussion.

The artists of Assisi Suono Sacro pursue their commitment through the value of music as a universal and transversal language of peace through the creation and promotion of interdisciplinary projects between the arts, of which cinema is an emblematic example.
